Metallic welding
Laser welding is a very performant process that can use used with a robot. It can be found in many industrial sectors like transport, mechanics, manufacturing of capital goods, where quality, precision and rapidity are required.
Nd-YAG and fibre lasers give performances as good as CO2 laser with the advantage of the fibre optic. With pulse lasers it is possible to weld parts with high accuracy by controlling the energy deposit during the laser pulse (0,1 ms to 50 ms).
Filler metal welding and hybrid welding (laser + MigMag) are new solutions that combine laser and conventional processes. They are particularly adapted for the welding of dissimilar materials and for applications requiring penetrating and wide welds.
Advantages of this technique :
- high welding speed
- fine and penetrating welds
- low distortions
- accurate welding avoiding post machining
- welding of high thickness (> 20 mm)
