Laser protection rules
Since 2010, French decree 2010-750 has been regulating the use of laser systems, including powerful sources of class 2 and above or safer class 1 systems. You have the obligation to assess the risks relating to prolonged exposure to artificial optical radiation (AOR). If the measurements taken exceed the permitted limit, you are required to prepare an action plan in order to reduce the AOR exposure rate. It is preferable to set aside a dedicated room that is only accessible to authorised personnel for the safe use of lasers belonging to class 3B or above. Individuals working near or with laser devices must be provided with adapted protective glasses or goggles. It is indispensable to avoid placing flammable materials in the vicinity of laser systems.
Laser safety training with IREPA LASER
IREPA LASER offers a number of laser safety training courses to raise the awareness of the technicians who use your laser machinery or work near it. The instructors of IREPA LASER are approved by the French National Committee for Optical Safety (CNSO). Their task is to extend the knowledge of your employees about the safety instructions to be applied while using a laser device. They remind workers that the use of protective clothing and goggles is mandatory, particularly if there is a risk of exposure to lasers belonging to class 3B and above. These professionals will also help make the environment around the laser safer, by giving you tips and advice.
Do your laser systems comply with applicable safety standards? Are you sure your employees are using the laser devices as they are required to do? IREPA LASER will allow you to take advantage of its expertise by informing your personnel about all the safety measures to be applied.
We offer services to industry, healthcare professionals, scientists and show business or any other activities involving the use of lasers.
Our training may be given in your premises so that you can train a group within the shortest possible time and for a reduced cost.
